Cinco de Mayo Celebration
Just because Cinco de Mayo was yesterday doesn't mean the party is over... it's just beginning. Come and celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Market Square this weekend with music, Mexican dancers, 
arts and crafts vendors, street food, and of course -- margaritas!! The festivities are from 10 am to 10 pm, Saturday and Sunday. I'll be there selling my cookbook, Foods and Flavors of San Antonio. Be sure to stop by my booth and say hi.

Taco Tour Kick-Off
I was invited to a media lunch today at La Gloria to kick off the Asando Sabroso tour sponsored by McCormick Spices. We were treated to two delicious tacos... a Carne Asado Taco seasoned with Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning and a Chipotle Chicken Taco with Cumin and Garlic. To go along with that, I had hibiscus tea to drink (very refreshing) and tres leche cake was served for dessert.
Then I discovered the grilling tent that was serving up Ancho Adobo Tacos de Bistec with Grilled Corn and Tomatillo Salsa. These are the best tacos I've ever eaten!!
During the tour, the Carne Asada taco and the Chipotle Chicken taco will be served for a $1.00 donation that will be matched by McCormick for CIA scholarships for Latino chefs. The tour features a "tripped out" taco truck tour, making 26 stops in six Southwest cities. The tour begins in San Antonio on Thursday, May 5th at the HEB on 6818 Zarzamora Street from 4 to 7 pm, then travels to Dallas, Houston, Austin, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
McCormick graciously gave me two gift baskets... one for me and one to give away. For a chance to win, leave a comment saying what your favorite taco is and what spices you use to season it. Contest closes on May 12th at midnight. Only open to U.S. addresses.
